AKS supports confidential workloads, NAB and Microsoft's 5-yr partnership

AKS supports confidential workloads, NAB and Microsoft’s 5-yr partnership – Cloud computing started in the 1960s with the proposal of an intergalactic computer network. Yeah, really? It was used for confidential spy stuff about rockets and aliens. AKS now supports confidential workloads where you put your spy stuff. NAB and Microsoft signed a five-year deal to move a thousand applications to Azure and Private Link support is now available for Azure Automation.

Azure Kubernetes Services, or AKS now supports confidential workloads through integration with DCs v2-series SKU node pools. All I hear in that sentence though, is confidential. I’m thinking 1960s, spies and Sputnik. Yeah, but this is a new show about Microsoft cloud computing. So I should also tell you that this service allows you to add DC series node pools developed with the Open Enclave SDK, the Intel SGX SDK, or ISV confidential apps alongside regular container applications in the same cluster.

Microsoft and national Australia bank, or NAB signed a five-year strategic deal that will see 80% of the banks apps be hosted on the public cloud by 2023. This is a big win for Microsoft, and we’ll see 5,000 technologists being upskilled to also have their head in the clouds. The project we’ll see both NAB and Microsoft co-design a brand new multi-cloud technology that will use the latest and greatest. The rest of the announcement is confidential though.

Azure Automation is a cloud based automation and configuration service that lets you manage resources and services across your Azure and non-Azure environments. Azure Private Link provides private connectivity from a virtual network to Azure PasS services and secures the connection between endpoints in Azure by never using the public internet.

Those two services can now be used together in a preview to ensure your automation data is only accessed through authorized private networks. Confidentially. All right, the public part of the show is over, the rest unfortunately is confidential.
